Sept 04 - North from Norris to Mammoth Springs

On the way, you'd never know what was ahead...

Mammoth had many interpretation signs, some with paitings

It was the start of the elk rut, so there were a few elk around. We noticed many signs about getting too close.

We first walked around the square..

Up to the color...

elk in the neighborhood..

then the fort

The course of a ranger-led walk had to be changed to avoid the elk.
